For the second consecutive year, DuPont is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the regional Health and Safety events, located in the South at Sandown Park Esher on 26th-27th February and in the North at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton on 8th- 9th October 2008.

Talking about the success of last year’s events, and looking forward to Health & Safety 08, Paul Clow, UK and Scandinavian Regional Manager for DuPont Personal Protection, said,

“The diversity and comprehensiveness of Health and Safety 08’s seminar programme and exhibitor zone reflects the many complex issues that affect the health, safety and wellbeing of today’s workforce – in all working environments. As sponsor of the shows, we have been delighted with the industry’s response to this compact and concise event, which will continue to improve and grow. It has given us the opportunity to help bring together a comprehensive package of education and safety products to a local audience.”

A portfolio of protective clothing solutions

A team of protective clothing solution experts from DuPont Personal Protection will be on hand to discuss a range of DuPont™ products on display, which will include:

  • A collection of limited use coveralls and accessories made from DuPont™ TYVEK®, TYCHEM® and PROSHIELD® that offer protection against chemical and biological hazards, grease and dirt
  • Heat-and-flame protective garments made of DuPont™ NOMEX® brand fibre
  • Cut-and-abrasion resistant gloves and accessories made from DuPont™ KEVLAR® brand fibre.

Seminar topics

DuPont protective clothing solution experts will also be taking part in the seminar programme, speaking on topics of headline importance:

  • Protection against electric arc: The imminent introduction of an IEC standard for garments, updated test methods for types of arcs and the introduction of a revised European Standard to protect against heat and flame could affect many organisations whose employees are at risk of burn injury from electric arc. FR protective clothing specialist Elaina Harvey will discuss what the changes in legislation will mean for end-users and protective garment manufacturers.
  • Protective coveralls – selection and use: Ian Samson, European Sales and Training Specialist for DuPont Personal Protection, has expert knowledge of limited-use protective garments such as those made of DuPont™ TYVEK®, DuPont™ TYCHEM® and DuPont™ PROSHIELD®. He will discuss best practice in the selection of limited use protective garments, and once selected, how a protective garment must be put on (donned) and removed (doffed) to avoid the potential for cross-contamination of hazardous substances.
